Junior visit days at the University of Kansas

The campus visit is a critical component of any college planning process. Second semester of junior year is an ideal time for college-bound students (and their families) to spend time on the college and university campuses that match their interests. Many institutions, including the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, will host special day-long visit programs designed to meet the needs of students in this phase of their search.

A more focused or academically tailored follow-up visit during senior year is advisable for those, who after visiting a first time, determine they will apply for admission in the fall.

SPRING 2012 KU JUNIOR VISIT DAYS

KU JUNIOR VISIT DAY SCHEDULE (subject to change)

• 9am - Check-in and Academic Fair
• 9:55am - Welcome
• 10:20am - Admission Overview
• 11am - Athletics, Residence Hall, Dining Hall, & Classroom Experiences
• 2:30pm - Campus Tour
• 3:30pm - Optional Bonus Session and/or Tours

There is a $15 per person fee, which includes on-campus parking, a light breakfast, lunch, and a t-shirt for visiting students.

KU to Host Local Event for KC Metro High School Juniors

The University of Kansas invites all metro Kansas City high school juniors and their families who have an interest in KU to attend the upcoming Johnson County Hawk Talk event. For students just embarking upon the college search, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about KU and what steps are needed in order to gain admission and, ultimately, to enroll. Tuesday, April 20, 2010 KU Edwards Campus (12600 Quivira in Overland Park, KS) Check-In at 6:30pm Program from 7:15 pm to 8:30pm Event attendees will hear from KU admission representatives, see a glimpse of life on campus, learn how to make the most of the senior year of high school and the summer before college…and maybe even win Jayhawk prizes. This Hawk Talk reception is free for students and their guests, but advance registration is requested.
